Our Story
CTC AV is a community-led grassroots campaign addressing law enforcement violence and racism and reimagining care for our communities. CTC AV builds on decades of organizing around the U.S. Department of Justice Settlement Agreement, as well as the powerful 2020 organizing by local young people in 2020 in response to the George Floyd murder and decades of murders by sheriff’s deputies in our community.
CTC AV launched in March 2021 and we want to cancel the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s security contract with the Antelope Valley Union High School District that allows police violence to invade our schools and push our children into the school-to-prison pipeline. Our campaign is also calling for the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster to cancel their contracts for policing with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
